oops my bad on the blessing in the skies/existential funk confusion... I should know better. In any case it was a great time. I hadn\'t seen them since the last time they played @ Toads with Kung Fu! Here\'s hopin to many more during the fall!

set: shotgun butterfly, episode 3, tunage, eschers 1 - rush - a blessing in the skies
e: vermont song, the chase
To the best of my knowledge (feel free to add or make corrections)
I: Shotgun Butterfly, Episode 3, Tunage, Eschers 1 > Rush > Existential Funk
E: The Vermont Song, The Chase^
^ Stand (Sly and the Family Stone) tease; ? P-Funk tease
Musical highlight for me was the dance party jam during The Chase.

good times last night. i was pleasantly surprised by the size of the crowd for a thursday night. and with the new toad\'s setup, it actually felt like a real venue. my highlights were the tunage and rush jams. the chase got pretty good also. exfunk continues to grow on me. i would have preferred a jam>sleeping beauty over encore break>vt song, but that\'s my only gripe...well that and i wish they played longer. glad to see so many familiar faces
-
What\'s the new toad\'s setup
-
What\'s the new toad\'s setup
instead of a split down the middle, it\'s just an open area (like every other venue)...which is awesome. not sure how "new" it actually is, since i haven\'t been there since last july, but it\'s a huge improvement
-
Epic show, way too short although the extended encores helped. SG Butterfly may be my new fav.
-
^its been like that for the better part of the last year.
last evening was a ton o fun! fortunately not too banged up today and by some grace wasn\'t really late for work either!
shotgun butterfly was great as an opener... is this 1st time played as show opener? tunage and the chase were my highlights -- the end of the ExFunk jam really got there! a sleeping beauty woulda been nice!
-
there was a dancing in the streets tease during an intro at one point but i have no idea when that was. i probably shouldn\'t have had beer for dinner last night.
-
i kinda remember that... i want to say encore? perhaps the chase?
-
That Tunage was great.
-
It always is. And may I compliment you on your quite rare form last evening? Perhaps it was all that great singing?

EpiTrey... word.
From the fiancee (her first show): "If they play at our wedding for three hours, they\'re going to play more than four songs, right?"

Come on....was I that bad?

shit is that where you ended up? i remember you came back after the show and you disappeared. i thought you may have fallen into the koi pond
-
^ awesome. you were not inappropriate. just wino\'d. (tho i can only attest for your pre-party behavior.)
-
lol
Great show... good jams and an overall well-polished feel to the concert. Probably my favorite part was Existential Funk (as usual) and Eppy 3 and EE1. Shotgun Butterfly was waaaay better than the last 2 times I saw it. Actually dig the song now ;)
Thank you Kyle and Eric, ... although I was a little offended I didn\'t get quite the extended "tour" of the house as George and Alex...
-
band tore it up and they got a nice new dress code in affect apparently
-
^new dress code? huh?
lance, you were all good my friend (b4 & after). as i was cleaning the kitchen this morning i thought about doing a round through the garden but kinda peaked out the window and said... nah. i am very surprised i have yet to sleep out there....
nick - can\'t believe you missed the postparty that you threw! and for the first time in my 29 years, i went to bed.
josh - you\'ll get a more complete terr next time bud!
-
LIked Existential funk a lot, and i liked the banana bread brownies , thanx Russ, Zuke and Eric !
-
eschers>rush segway was what I love about breakfast. never know what you\'re going to get, and they had some rare form last night. These guys are so tight. I have not hit any shows really in months to the point where I had to ask diana the name of a song before remembering the chorus (existential funk) and I also thought eppy3 was something else for a while. Sad. I feel like a newb.
That said, it was faaaaaaaaannnnntastic seeing everyone again. Miss you all. miss seeing the band more than once a month +. Going to have to do something about that.
Eric - you make some epic salsa. I couldn\'t stop, loved them both. Thanks for the couch. Negrini, thanks for offering your couch as well. Hope my phone didn\'t wake anyone up at 4am. btw, it\'s 6:30p and I\'m still up.
-
Anybody got a head count?
I saw a full room!!! Not too shabby!
1hr 40min set is a lot of notes!!!
-
Todd...
It\'s okay to think an Eppy 3 is going to be a Metropolis for a little while it\'s being teased ;)
-

i heard this also. i was freaking! asked tim about it today and he had no idea what i was talking about!? also....he said 220 paid....not bad. i think it\'s time for a two setter!!
-

yeah same here, had a wonderful thursday! great show and nice to meet some new people. glad to finally make it up to ct early for once! tunage, rush, the chase, and the salsas were highlights for me.
ps - come down for kung fu @ sullivan hall on fri, sept 3!
-
i need to listen to the tunage again, but my thought was that it may have topped my prior favorite version from sully\'s 1-31-09. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDvIy2B3xs4)

Tunage was the highlight for me. Love that f\'in song!

That was a serious serious show. Anyone driving from Boston for Kung Fu on September 3? Anywhere I can crash in NYC?
