Thanks to tmn8r for the setlist.
-
the second set just made me spunk in my pants....
-
pffffffffffffffffffffffffffft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
*jam > Sleeping Beauty. the jam was sick.
ridiculous. cant believe i forgot about karn and spunk, jeeeez.. friday and saturday.. i feel like shedding a tear of joy. hot damn!!
-
wish I coulda been there. f\'in tornados and pouring rain. looks like fun, and what I knew I would miss!
I\'m so glad the guys had a rockin\' good time hitting the Midwest. Don\'t be strangers!!!
-
and for the record, Rufus was fucking nasty, but i am officially a member of the Buquebus over Rufus clan. hardly compares after friday night.
-
** with \'Thunderstruck\' (AC/DC) teases.
heh that must have been a ser rufus
-
the jam into sleeping beauty has grown to epic proportions..
dark and funky.
-
last nights jam took off, really fast and almost techno-like.
-
Had never heard the band before this show. One of the better bands I\'ve seen in a while, they definitely made a fan last night...
-
welcome......
what was the crowd/scene like last night????
-
The Yacht Club is a really small venue, but it was filled pretty well. The people who were there were definitely into it, especially the one 40-something woman who barrelled her way to the front dancing up a storm.
-
good to see you here manatwo... hell of a show. wondering if you were one of the two guys i asked if it was your first time seeing them? they were excited after SB and i told em that was about 10% of their potential.

you shoulda seen the chick to chick action at Wisconsin.. i had the view from behind the stage and these girls were gazing at him, getting seriously moistened, and then decided to get sexually explicit during Gladys and Buquebus. it was HOT.

Taped? Yes, but only audio (sorry kate :)) I\'m sure if you listen closely you can hear moaning though.
This weekend blew my mind! Seeing The Breakfast one weekend out of every six months is like watching a child grow. Leaps and bounds my friends, leaps and bounds.
-
the second set looks like pure energy.
-
welcome manatwo34! glad you had a good time. Looks like a killer setlist to be drawn in with. I want to hear that rufus. The jam must have been pretty intense to segway thunderstruck.
Given this was a short tour, it looks like it was a great success. Bravo to everyone involved!
-
Hot chicks making out during Buquebus just made me moist.
-
iowa city is hands down one of the coolest places i have been to. such a chill place. i have friends there which made it 10 times better. this show was not as good as the night before, but to argue with Gordo, it was definetly right up there. psygn is getting almost too ridiculous. mooboo\'s in the first set ?? i had been waiting all 4 nights to hear rufus, and to be the last song of the tour was something special. it was awesome chilling with gordo, one awesome guy. seeing people traveling from show to show was really exciting. walking around these towns seeing breakfast posters and flyers everywhere rocked. the people out there can not wait for another run, and neither can I

My buddy Chris was responsible for all of the promotion. We opened up for The Breakfast on Saturday and had a fuckin blast. These guys are talented! Also a group of cool, humble dudes. I\'m looking forward to this torrent being posted.

Near all the promos, I busted ass making sure flyers hit town like wild fire the weekend prior... but I can\'t argue, Chris did book the show. By the way, Buddha blew me away Saturday as well, I hadn\'t seen you guys play for a few months now and it was a killer awakening! Way to go... plus now you can say you opened for the sickest band ever. Welcome to the Forum, hope to see a few more posts from ya in the future.

Thanks man --- appreciate the kind words. I\'ve been playin w/chris since highschool and we\'re just starting to get this band thing really moving...Some of us are finishing up school and whatnot, so the songwriting process is slow.
I think after Sat I\'m a new fan of the breakfast. I\'d seen them once before this summer, but I think I "got it" this weekend. Whats your name, by the way, I probably talked to you
-
hey rodriguez, im in the chicago area.. i missed you guys on saturday due to napping after a long friday and long drive saturday. i saw you guys put something like "hard-driving reggae funk" or something on flyers, i definitely need to hit up a show. point me in the direction of your website.
-
Gordo - Website is in the making right now. We\'re trying to gather enough live recordings, pics, press kit etc before we get it up running. We only have a few dates up on jambase right now.

Nope, not me.

Names Ryan; I have meet you before. I went to a little shin dig and got shit faced with you guys after the show last April 23rd when you opened for Blotto. All I remember is Chris freaking out at a wookie because he dropped pizza on the floor?.
I\'m sure I\'ve seen you around since then as well. Play guitar? Bass? Drums?

Yeah that was a fun night. Gelbuda busted out the vacuum cleaner at like 3 in the morning, while still bitching at people for being too loud!
My name\'s Tyler, I play guitar w/RB. I know I\'ve met you, I saw that pic in your profile of you and Erin and you look familiar. We\'re opening up for The Breakfast again in the spring I think....
-
Yeah, I remember them saying they would make another run... I made it apoint that I was out of town in April and if that\'s when they playing IC again my heart will turn black.
I know who you are now as well. Take care back in Illinois :stoned:

i\'m stealing a post a friend of mine put over on the moe. PT board and adding it on to here:
\'the show was nuts. insane. absolutely flawless. there weren\'t too many people there--maybe 100. probably less. i was right up front the whole time pumping my fist in the air and getting crazy. these are really top notch musicians and i hope they come to the midwest sometime in the near future. in the meantime, my best friend and i have found yet another band we will travel to see together. :o) we\'re in love. ;o)\'
SER!

This was a really good show, and I learned a lot after seeing them for the 4th time in 2 years. My highlight of the show was Rufus.
My room mate got me into these guys a few years ago with the Phaddy Boom Batty song, and I didn\'t think they were that great until I heard some live shit. Now I am a believer. If anyone in the scene isn\'t totally blown away by this band\'s live performances, I would have to argue otherwise.
After listening to BONAFIDE, like, 20 times I just had to book these guys at the Yacht Club. I just called up their management and booked them...it was pretty much something I did for me and my room mate.....he was like "Man, I really wanna see those guys again someday...are they playin around here soon?" and I was like.."Lets make it happen , broseph".
When I welcomed the guys into town, I talked to them all and had a few questions answered....mainly I learned who rufus is about (A roofer Adrian worked for...rufus the roofer). They were all humble and talkative guys....Me and Tim exchanged our coventry gripes in good fashion.
At one point Jordan could smell my nugs, and his keen nose eventually lead to me getting some of the guys so high they had frothy spit coming out of there mouths (not really). At this point I asked "Can we PLEASE get a rufus and a spunk tonite?"
Tim obliged, stating they hadn\'t played it yet that run. The rest is history...and the breakfast is coming back. If you ever want to see the breakfast in a good environment, check out the Yacht Club. Plus, if you know me, you gets the hookup.
Good show.....
Peace
